We regret to announce that our National Day of Prayer event, scheduled for today, has been cancelled. Our area is under a flood watch and thunderstorms are predicted to continue through the noon hour.
I'm reminded of another National Day of Prayer, in May of 2020. We were just a couple of months into the Covid pandemic and schools, businesses, and most churches were shut down. Prayer events all across America were shut down that day as well. I sent out a devotion encouraging my readers to pray, wherever they were.
May of 2020 was a challenging time for our community, our country, and our world. But so is May of 2024. Wherever you are today, take a moment to lift up our government leaders, our soldiers, our first responders, our schools, our churches, our families. Take a moment . . . to pray.
